Infosys Mysore DC successfully concludes MakersSpace

Mysuru – September 13, 2019:Infosys Mysore Development Center (DC) recently concluded MakersSpace, a hackathon for engineering students from colleges in and around Mysore. The hackathon received overwhelming response from 150 students, who were accompanied by 30 mentors from 14 colleges.

MakersSpace, a 24-hour long hackathon was organized with the objective of engaging with engineering students from local colleges and to inculcate a culture of innovation among students. Aligning to the theme ‘Sustainability’, the problem statements focused on social good, education, agriculture, economics, energy and environment. The students were allowed to select a problem statement from the above mentioned topics.

The event was inaugurated by Dr. N.R. Parasuraman, Director and Senior Professor at SDM Institute for Management Development, Mysore and Shaji Mathew, Head of Mysore DC and EVP, Global Head of Delivery, for the Financial Services, Healthcare, Insurance & Life Sciences at Infosys. Addressing the students, the chief guests elaborated on the importance of sustainability and how young minds can act as catalysts to bring a positive change.

The members of the winning team were from Maharaja Institute of Technology Thandavapura, Mysuru.

The winning team of the hackathon received a prize worth INR 25,000 along with a trophy, certificates and shields. The first runner up team received INR 20,000 and the second runner up team received INR 15,000 along with certificates, shields and souvenirs.
